Suboxone Treatment

Immediate and Long-lasting Relief for Chronic Conditions with Suboxone Treatment in Torrance, Southbay, Westside

Suboxone is a contemporary medication management used for office-based treatment of opioid addiction and for chronic pain. There are some patients who suffer from drug addiction who also suffer from chronic pain. At Pacific Pain & Wellness Group, Suboxone is used for Pain Management and for the office-based treatment of opioid addiction. Buprenorphine is an opioid medication, while naloxone is a narcotic drug that reverses the effects of other narcotic medicines.

Addiction to prescription painkillers or heroin is a chronic, or long-term, medical condition. Because of the ways it affects the brain, opioid dependence is not something many people can overcome on their own. Suboxone Treatment, along with behavioral or psychiatric therapy, have helped numerous opioid-dependent patients of Pacific Pain & Wellness recover and regain control over their condition.

Suboxone Treatment

Suboxone is an approved medication for opioid addiction and Pain Management. It is administered in its sublingual forms, either tablet or film. Because the analgesic effect of a dose of Suboxone only last for six hours, use of Suboxone for mild to moderate chronic pain is done by increasing the patient’s total dose or dividing the same dose into multiple smaller doses to be taken throughout the day. For moderate to severe pain, Suboxone is not usually enough and your pain specialists at Pacific Pain & Wellness Group may have to combine it with or switch you to a stronger opioid temporarily until the condition is resolved.

When a patient with a history of opioid addiction needs Suboxone for pain, it increases the risk of a relapse because of Suboxone’s potential for abuse. However, leaving chronic pain untreated is not an acceptable option. Because chronic pain and addiction is a delicate combination of medical problems, patients must seek treatment from pain specialists to avoid relapse. At Pacific Pain & Wellness Group, we follow strict guidelines to reduce the risk of relapse, such as close monitoring and prescribing smaller amounts to determine optimum dose and seeing the patient more often.

At the Pacific Pain & Wellness Group, Suboxone Treatment is administered by pain specialists Dr. Kartik Anath, Dr. Reuben Chen.
